The music industry is facing the biggest challenges due to Coronavirus pandemic, and it's unlike anything we've encountered before.

At this time of crisis, the Coronavirus disease made an impact that affected businesses and workers around the world, especially in the music industry. Many concerts and music festivals were postponed this year, and it caused a major financial downfall in the music business. The industry experts concluded that the music business will be losing millions without the live concert scene.
This is what happened this years' Wanderland Music Festival- the crew were prepping up for their stage design, artists, venue, etc. three days before the festival concert, they have released an official announcement to cancel it. The same goes for other concert promoters who postponed/canceled shows from their music acts.
“Social Distancing killed our game for many reasons.”
Rhiza Pascua, MMI Live CEO, via CNN Philippines
The CEO explained in an interview on how Social Distancing killed the concert scene. First, it’s a logistical nightmare. Second, it’s going to be difficult for the crew to set up. Third, it’s going to be hard for the artists to perform at a half-filled venue and people scattered around with their vacant seats.
Having a concert for the new normal might be risky, and different for all of us, but following the protocols not only benefits us but others too.
With all the concerts that are postponed/canceled this pandemic, there are other ways musicians are doing at this time of the year like concerts, new music, and fundraisers.
Online Concerts
Musicians having their “Stay at home” concerts to interact with their fans more, despite the problems that people are facing nowadays- it’s great to have a time for something that we can look forward to. There are artists who joined online concerts which the proceeds will go to charity affected by COVID-19.

Releasing new music
Musicians have been inspired to write their songs especially when most of the people are staying at home. Twenty One Pilots wrote a song called Level of concern with lyrics that have a reference with the pandemic. In the song, Tyler Joseph sang the lyrics “Wonderin’ would you be my little quarantine? Or this the way it ends?”
Streaming to new music by our favorite musicians helped most of us to have a great day and it is a way to help and support independent musicians this time of crisis. It’s also one of the reasons why fans are excited when artists release their new craft.

Fundraisers
Musicians are teaming up with their fans for fundraisers that can help donate PPE for the healthcare workers and the people that are affected by the virus.
Spotify added a Fundraiser feature whenever you go on an artist page. The artist will be able to choose their desired fundraiser, and fans can help with just one click.

While concert-goers are heartbroken at the announcements and cancellations, it is important to keep in mind the safety of the people around us. Especially there is still no vaccine for Coronavirus. Be prepared and listen to the news or any updates in the pandemic situation. This is a global phenomenon, and we should not take this lightly.
